Dr Steinar Birkeland

Dr. Steinar Birkeland is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in IT risk, security, and fraud management. Currently serving as Senior Subject Lead for BankID/eID and SVP-Head of IT Risk and Security Center at DNB since June 2018, Birkeland has previously held significant roles at Nordea as Global Product and Process Manager for Fraud Management, overseeing various authentication services and compliance with legal regulations. Other notable positions include technical documentation solution development at Kongsberg Maritime and network security roles at Experis/Hydro. Additionally, Birkeland has a strong educational background, holding a Doctor of Business Administration and an MBA from the University of Liverpool, alongside a BSc in Network and Security from the University of Glamorgan.
