Hossein Safaei

Hossein Safaei has extensive experience in sustainability, corporate affairs, and energy management within the oil and gas sector. Currently serving as the Head of Sustainability and HSE at DNO ASA since January 2017, Hossein has held multiple roles including Commercial and Corporate Affairs Manager and Manager of Local Business Development in the Kurdistan Business Unit. Responsibilities included commercial oversight, development of corporate social responsibility strategies, and local content enhancement. Prior to DNO, Hossein worked at IHS Energy as Associate Director focusing on North American crude oil markets and participated in various academic roles, including guest lecturer at IFP School and research positions at Harvard University. Hossein received a PhD in Engineering Sciences from Harvard University and a MSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alberta.
