Bente Pretlove

Bente Pretlove is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in sustainable development and environmental engineering. Currently serving as Programme Director for Ocean Space and Sustainable Food Systems at DNV since February 1998, Bente has held multiple leadership roles including Programme Director for Climate Change and Senior Principal Adviser. Bente's expertise is further demonstrated through consultancy work at Norges forskningsråd and various advisory positions, including membership on the National Committee for the Decade of Ocean Science and the Advisory Board for the UN Ocean Decade. Bente has also contributed to the World Business Council for Sustainable Development as a liaison delegate. Bente holds a Ph.D. in Chemical and Environmental Engineering and an M. Eng. in Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering, complemented by advanced business education from INSEAD and the University of California, Berkeley.
