Claas Rostock is a Principal Specialist at DNV since January 2014, focusing on developing concepts, software, and technology for assurance in simulation models and a digital value chain in shipbuilding. Previously, Claas served as Head of the Department of Safety & Systems Engineering, leading a team of 23 in advisory services such as model-based system engineering, cybersecurity, and risk assessments of alternative fuel systems. Claas has also worked as a Principal Engineer in Maritime Advisory, specializing in experimental investigations and interdisciplinary troubleshooting. Prior experience includes serving as Senior Project Manager and Measurement Engineer at Germanischer Lloyd SE from 1999 to 2013, along with earlier roles at Alstom Energy and Volkswagen de Mexico. Claas holds a BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from Fachhochschule Kiel and completed a professional apprenticeship as an Industrial Mechanic at Hatlapa Uetersener Maschinenfabrik.
