Dawn Lake

Dawn Lake is the Director of Digital Health Strategy at DOCTORS OF B C. Dawn has over 20 years of experience in the field of information management and access, and has been a leader in promoting best practices in data governance and privacy.

Prior to their current role, Dawn was the Senior Director of Information Access & Privacy Services at the Provincial Health Services Authority. In this role, they oversaw the information access and privacy team, providing support and guidance to senior executives and leadership. Dawn was also responsible for developing and implementing the organizational strategy for leadership and management of information access and privacy, as well as consolidating teams and streamlining processes to ensure operational efficiencies.

Under Dawn's leadership, the provincial programs they oversaw had a significant impact on all BC Health Authorities and the development of Province-wide policies and standards. Dawn was recognized for their skill at building trusted relationships and guided decision-making with internal and external stakeholders, and their focus on changing, modernizing and improving technology by working closely with executive leadership, senior management, Government and Board Members.

Dawn Lake is an Information Access and Privacy Professional who has a background in Health/Health Care Administration/Management from the University of Alberta. Dawn also has a degree in Computer Science from the University of Regina and a Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse degree from the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology. Dawn also has three certifications from LinkedIn in Leading with Vision, Strategic Thinking, and How to Use LinkedIn Learning.
