Mário Rui Castro

Mário Rui Castro has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Mário Rui began their career as a Researcher at the University of Évora, where they focused on the micropropagation and conservation of Portuguese endemic floral species. Mário Rui then moved on to work as a Superior Technician at the Associação Distrital dos Agricultores de Castelo Branco, where they managed technical information and projects related to rural development.

In 2012, Mário co-founded AgroNomada, where they served as an Associate and played a role in the development of the startup. Mário Rui later joined the Universidade da Beira Interior as a Researcher, conducting research projects in their area of expertise.

Mário's career then took a turn towards the agricultural and forestry sector when they joined Obramacor as an Agriculture and Forestry Consultant. In this role, they were responsible for project development, rural development management, and utilizing field and office GIS tools.

In 2014, Mário became the Start-up Manager at B.O.X. - Body Optimization Xperience, where they likely played a key role in managing the startup.

Mário then transitioned into the IT industry, working as a Product Owner for various applications at DXC Technology ServiceNow Practice NCE. Mário Rui also held the role of Product Owner at Convevo, where they managed internal apps developed in collaboration with DXC Technology.

In 2021, Mário took on the role of Managing Partner at Incognit.Cloud, a company specializing in ServiceNow solutions.

Most recently, Mário joined doDOC as a Product Owner. doDOC is a Portuguese-American software company focused on enterprise content collaboration.

Throughout their career, Mário has demonstrated a diverse skill set and experience in research, project management, consulting, and product ownership.

Mário Rui Castro's education history is as follows:

Mário Rui received their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biomedical Sciences, General from Universidade da Beira Interior, where they studied from 2012 to 2016.

Prior to their doctoral studies, Mário Rui Castro obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Conservation Biology from the University of Évora, which they attended from 2007 to 2009.

In 2004, Mário Rui Castro completed their undergraduate studies at the University of Évora, earning a Licentiate degree in Biology.

In addition to their formal education, Mário Rui Castro has obtained several additional certifications. These include the AgilePM® Foundation certification from APMG International, which they acquired in April 2023, and the Certified System Administrator certification from ServiceNow, obtained in February 2020.

Mário Rui has also completed micro-certifications in Agile and Test Management, Automated Test Framework, and Application Portfolio Management from ServiceNow, with certification dates in November and October 2019.

Mário Rui Castro further expanded their skillset with a certification in Software Product Management from the University of Alberta in June 2018, and a Professional Scrum Master I certification from Scrum.org in January 2018.

Mário Rui is currently pursuing the AgilePM® Practitioner certification from APMG International, scheduled to be obtained in April 2023.
