Joel Souza has a diverse background in the media and entertainment industry. Joel most recently worked as a Video Production Manager at Dog and Pony Studios, starting in March 2022. Prior to that, they gained experience as a Sales Associate at Best Buy Canada and as an Office Production Assistant at Cave 7 Productions in 2021.
In 2020, they held the role of Director of Media Production at A.G. CONTENT; and from 2018 to 2021, they worked as a Sales Associate at Kitchen Stuff Plus Inc. Additionally, they served as a Production Intern at Mad Ruk Entertainment from January to May 2021.
Joel's earlier experiences include working as a Creative Director at 3lhamas Producoes from 2013 to 2018. Joel also had brief stints as a Production Coordinator at Conspiração Filmes in 2018, Reagent Media in 2017, and A Fábrica in 2017. Overall, Joel has a strong background in media production and coordination, with a range of experiences in sales and internships.
Joel Souza has a diverse education history in the field of broadcasting and film. From 2018 to 2021, they attended Centennial College, where they earned an Advanced Diploma in Broadcasting with a focus on Radio, Television, Film, and Digital Media. Prior to that, they studied Film Arts and Languages at Estácio from 2014 to 2015.
Joel also pursued studies in Film/Video and Photographic Arts at Universidade Veiga de Almeida from 2013 to 2014 and Cinematography and Film/Video Production at New York Film Academy from 2012 to 2013.
Earlier in their educational journey, Joel obtained a Bachelor's degree in Social Communications with an emphasis in Film Studies from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro, where they studied from 2007 to 2012. In addition, they participated in a Filmmaking exchange program at The University of New Mexico in 2011 and completed an English program at Bell International in 2008.
Aside from their academic pursuits, Joel has also acquired several certifications to enhance their skill set. Joel obtained a COVID-19 Contact Tracing certification from The Johns Hopkins University in July 2020 and completed the Safe Sets™ COVID-19 Level A certification for the Film and Video Production Industry from Safe Sets International around the same time. In December 2018, they obtained the WHMIS certification from OnlineWHMIS.ca™, and in May 2020, they completed the NABETiquette certification from NABET 700-M UNIFOR.
