Mahesh Balakrishnan

Mahesh Balakrishnan is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the technology and entertainment sectors. Currently serving as Vice President of the Audio Business at Dolby Laboratories since September 2010, Mahesh oversees the audio business unit and is instrumental in delivering audio/video experiences such as Dolby Atmos across various platforms. Previous roles at Dolby include Vice President of Business Development and Vice President of Products & Platforms, where Mahesh led significant projects like Dolby Vision. Before joining Dolby, Mahesh held key positions at Adobe Systems, DFJ Dragon Fund, Thomson, Infineon Ventures, and Philips, where significant contributions included the development of pioneering digital TV systems and establishing new business avenues. Mahesh has an impressive academic background, holding an MBA from The Wharton School, a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a BTech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. Additionally, Mahesh served as an Adjunct Professor at Columbia University, teaching graduate-level courses in Electrical Engineering.
