Ashley Bottella's work experience begins in 2014 when they started working as a Writing Center Tutor at The Writing Center. In this role, they assisted students in improving their writing skills, collaborated with writers and students on various assignments, and gained knowledge in research strategies and proper citation styles.
In 2017, Ashley became an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Rhode Island, where they worked until May 2017.
Later in 2017, they joined Oxford Immunotec as a Medical Laboratory Technician. Here, they performed the AFIA blood donor screening assay and eventually ran the department independently. Ashley also handled the IFA small tests and reported their results. Oxford Immunotec was acquired by Quest Diagnostics at the end of 2018.
In 2019, Ashley started working at Quest Diagnostics as a Medical Laboratory Technician. Ashley performed and read various assays for the Small Tests department, taking charge of the department single-handedly and handling six out of ten tests offered at the location. Ashley also reported the results for these tests.
Their most recent work experience is with Dominion Diagnostics, where they started in 2020 as a Medical Laboratory Technologist. In this role, they served as interim Lead Medical Laboratory Technician, conducting COVID PCR testing. Ashley was responsible for training new hires and streamlining training and workflow processes. Ashley currently interprets and releases patient urinalysis results performed on LCMS.
Ashley Bottella attended the University of Rhode Island from 2013 to 2017. During this time, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology.
