Karla Carter

Karla Carter is an experienced legal professional currently serving as Senior Counsel at Dominion Energy since February 2022. Prior to this role, Karla held various positions within the City of Suffolk, including Deputy City Attorney and Interim Deputy City Attorney from March 2021 to February 2022, and Assistant City Attorney from July 2006 to March 2021. Earlier in Karla's career, roles included Associate City Attorney at the City of Virginia Beach from August 1999 to July 2006 and Law Clerk at the City of Newport News from August 1997 to August 1999. Karla holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Richmond, earned between 1994 and 1997, and a Bachelor of Arts in English from William & Mary, completed from 1989 to 1993.
