Dr. Matthias Schmidt

Dr. Matthias Schmidt has extensive work experience in the chemical industry. Dr. Matthias started their career at Friedrich-Schiller Universität Jena, where they worked as a research assistant from 1995 to 1998. Dr. Matthias then joined DOMO Neuchem GmbH as a Quality Manager for Polymerisation from 1998 to 2000. Dr. Schmidt continued their career at DOMO Caproleuna GmbH, where they held various positions, including TQM Manager and Project Manager, from 2000 to 2011. In 2011, they joined Domo Chemicals as the Corporate Innovation Manager and Head of HSQE, a role they held until 2020. From 2020 to 2023, Dr. Schmidt served as the Corporate HSE Manager for DOMO Chemicals. Currently, they hold the position of Director HSE and Product Stewardship at Domo Chemicals.

Dr. Matthias Schmidt's education history begins in 1989 when they started studying physics at Friedrich Schiller University Jena. From 1990 to 1995, they pursued a degree in chemistry and obtained a Diplomchemiker degree from the same university. In 1999, they completed their education at Friedrich Schiller University Jena with a Promotion Chemie degree. Additionally, in 2017, Dr. Schmidt obtained certifications as an Innovation Master and an Innovation Practitioner from the verrocchio Institute for Innovation Competence.
