Denise Thomas

Director of Domus Vikings at Domus Kids

Denise is the director of the Domus Vikings program. Denise earned her BA in Psychology from the College of New Rochelle and her MPA in Public Policy and Criminal Justice from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Denise found her passion in criminal justice reform, working with incarcerated and formerly incarcerated youth and adults as a consultant and then Associate Director of Public Policy at the Correctional Association of NY. She co-led the organization’s grassroots campaign, Drop the Rock, to repeal the notorious NY Rockefeller drug laws. Denise advocated for a more just and humane criminal justice system leading weekly coalition meetings, coordinating multiple legislative advocacy days and voter registration drives. Denise also has extensive corporate legal experience and has worked for small and large firms in NY and CT. She holds a CT Charter School Administrator Certificate and has worked for Domus for 3 years. When Denise is not advocating on behalf of high school students, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.
