Gert Willems

Global Engineering Director | Equipment I Life Sciences at Donaldson

Gert Willems has extensive work experience in various engineering and management roles. Gert began their career at MELEXIS as a Project Engineer in Product Development, and later transitioned to the role of Quality Manager. In 1998, they joined Magna International as a Manufacturing Manager, overseeing the moulding and foaming business unit. After two years, they moved to SITA NEWS as the General Manager of Pears Plastics NV and PRC NV. In 2002, they founded Sienergie, AMConsult, working as an Energy Consultant. From 2004 to 2008, they served as the R&D Manager at DS Smith, Injection Moulded Products. Gert then joined Donaldson in 2008 and held several positions, including Engineering Manager and Director of Engineering in various divisions. Currently, they are the Global Engineering Director at Donaldson, responsible for Equipment in Life Sciences.

Gert Willems earned a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) degree in Electromechanical Engineering from KU Leuven in the period of 1986-1992. Prior to that, they completed their education at Sint-Jan Berchmans college Mol from 1979-1985, with a focus on Latijn Wiskunde.
