Valerie Martin

Valerie Martin, MS-IOP, PHR, SHRM-CP, CSFS has a diverse and extensive work experience. Valerie is currently serving as the VP of Human Resources at Door Controls USA since 2024. Prior to this, Valerie worked as the Executive Director at East Texas Steps for Pets starting from 2019. Valerie also served at Biomerics where they held various roles such as Vice President Human Resources and Director of Human Resources. Valerie was promoted to Vice President due to their reputation, willingness to roll up sleeves, and implement first-in-class processes. Valerie was responsible for managing 25-30 resources and a $1.5M budget. Valerie created a succession plan and invested in leadership development for individuals aligning with the plan. Earlier, Valerie worked at Trinity Valley as an Adjunct Psychology Instructor from 2018 to 2021. Before that, they held the position of Director of Human Resources at Door Controls USA, Inc., where they built the HR department and managed all aspects of HR. Valerie started their career as a Human Resources Generalist/Payroll at Re-Cal Services Inc., where they built the HR department from the ground up. Valerie also served as the Office Manager/HR Coordinator at Your Social Media Guy, where they performed various administrative and HR functions to support daily business operations.

Valerie Martin, MS-IOP, PHR, SHRM-CP, CSFS, holds a Master's Degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Southern New Hampshire University, which they obtained from 2015 to 2017. Valerie also earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Management, with a minor in Human Resource Development, from the University of Texas at Tyler, where they studied from 2012 to 2014. Valerie's academic journey began with an Associate's degree in Computer Science from Trinity Valley Community College, completed from 2010 to 2012. Prior to their higher education, Valerie attended John Tyler High School, where they pursued general studies from 1988 to 1992. In addition to their educational accomplishments, Valerie has obtained several certifications, including SHRM-CP and Professional in Human Resources (PHR®) from HR Certification Institute - HRCI, both earned in 2015. Valerie also holds various certifications such as Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification, Certified Self Funded Specialist, Diplomat Level 1 from Dale Carnegie Digital, and Trusted Advisor Level 2 from Dale Carnegie Digital. Valerie is continually expanding their knowledge and skills, as demonstrated by their participation in seminars such as the Elevate 2015 Seminar and their pursuit of certifications in executive coaching and high-performance achievement during times of stress.
