Tony Xu is one of the co-founders and has served as the Chief Executive Officer and as one of the directors since May 2013. He was appointed board chair in November 2020. Mr. Xu holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from the University of California, Berkeley and an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
He grew up as the child of immigrants, working in his mom’s restaurant before going onto Stanford and working at McKinsey, eBay, and Square. In 2013 he started the food delivery service DoorDash, at first running the deliveries himself.
