Susan V. Morgan

Dr. Morgan was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology & History, and a Master’s Degree in European History from the University of North Carolina Charlotte (UNCC). She taught History and Women’s Studies full-time at UNCC for several years and did adjunct teaching at Johnson C. Smith University. In 1989, Dr. Morgan and her family moved to Maryland where she taught at Montgomery College. She decided to retool and received her Master’s Degree in counseling at what is now McDaniel College in Westminster. While working for the Montgomery County Public Schools as a Resource Counselor, Dr. Morgan earned her PsyD in Psychology, specializing in adolescent depression. After over 20 years with the school system, she retired and moved permanently to Cambridge. She immediately became involved with the Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) in Cambridge and was appointed to the Commission by the City Council in 2017. Dr. Morgan was elected in 2020 as District 3 representative on the Board of Education of Dorchester County.
