Dr. Alissa Kanaan is an Associate Professor at the Department of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) in Little Rock, AR. She currently serves as the Director of the division of Rhinology, Allergy and Skull Base Surgery at the University of Arkansas where she is also Co-clerkship director for the medical student otolaryngology clerkship. She completed her medical school and Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery residency at the American University of Beirut. Following that, she did her fellowship training in Pediatric Otolaryngology at the University of McGill in Montreal and a Rhinology and Allergy fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh (UPMC). She is a member of the International Committee of the American Rhinologic Society and a member of the Women in Rhinology. She is very passionate about teaching and has received the Dean’s Resident teaching award multiple times and the Red Sash Award for medical student teaching.
