Annissa Essaibi-George has served as a Boston City Councilor since 2015. As a City Councilor-At-Large, Ms. Essaibi-George chairs the Council Committee on Education and the Committee on Homelessness, Mental Health and Recovery. Complementing her committee work, Annissa also focuses on public safety, protecting our City’s investments, supporting small businesses, advocating for and protecting elders, and improving the quality of life for every Bostonian. She is also the owner of Stitch House, a yarn and sewing shop in Dorchester. Prior to her appointment to city government, Ms. Essaibi-George taught juniors and seniors at East Boston High School. She graduated from Boston Technical High School (John D. O'Bryant School of Mathematics and Science) and earned a B.A. in Political Science from Boston University and a Masters of Education from University of Massachusetts Boston.
