Avi Poonyth

Avi in an Associate Geotechnical Engineer based in Douglas Partners Melbourne. He graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil & Infrastructure) from RMIT University and has worked on a variety of projects ranging from residential, commercial & industrial developments to major infrastructure projects.

Avi’s extensive experience within different geological settings, has helped his understanding and approach to his project work, based on the different complexities and limitations of the ground conditions before either devising site investigations or providing geotechnical design advice. His experience also includes a variety of site investigation works, analysis and construction monitoring for multi-storey buildings, major infrastructure projects, subdivisions, excavations, and pavements.

During his time as a Project Manager, he was heavily involved in major rail infrastructure projects across Melbourne, from the tendering process to managing and delivering Level Crossing Removal Projects. In February 2022 he was appointed Associate Geotechnical Engineer.
