Dounreay
Alan T. currently serves as the Senior Information Security Manager at NRS Dounreay, overseeing the delivery of the NRS Cyber programme since February 2023. Prior to this role, Alan worked as a Cyber Security Specialist and Technical Account Manager at Roc Technologies from January 2020 to February 2023, where strong client relationships were cultivated to design secure technical solutions. Alan's experience also includes significant roles at the Civil Nuclear Constabulary from October 2012 to January 2020, where responsibilities ranged from Enterprise Architect to Technical Lead (Infrastructure), managing enterprise architecture and infrastructure requirements. Earlier in Alan's career, roles included Security Specialist at CSC and Manager (LAN & IT Security) at UKAEA, with a strong focus on network security and standards. Alan's education includes studies at North Highland College and Wick High School.

Dounreay
Dounreay was the UK’s centre of fast reactor research and development from 1955 until 1994 and is now Scotland’s largest nuclear clean-up and demolition project. This was where some of the nation’s leading scientists and engineers experimented with plutonium, uranium and other metals to give Britain the knowledge to generate electricity using a more advanced type of nuclear reactor. Their research and development is now complete. The equipment and materials they used to gain this knowledge is being packed up and the environment restored by a new generation of staff skilled in nuclear clean-up. Today, Dounreay is part of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority Group and a site of construction, demolition and waste management, all of it designed to return the site to as near as practicable its original condition.
