Elie D. Al-Chaer, PhD, JD has had a diverse and extensive work experience. Elie D. is the Founding Attorney and Counselor at Law for ALCHAER LAW FIRM, which they established in 2002. Elie D. is also an Adjunct Professor of Legal Studies at Ivy Tech Online and the Co-Founder and CEO of HEALTECH INC, both starting in 2023.

In addition, Dr. Al-Chaer has a strong background in healthcare advocacy and policy, having worked as a Healthcare Advocate and Policy Advisor for the Healthcare Delivery & Reform Group since March 2020. Elie D. has also held various roles at the American University of Beirut, including Professor, Chairman, and Lead Consultant for the Department of Anatomy, Cell Biology and Physiological Sciences, as well as Professor and Chairman for the Interfaculty Neuroscience Graduate Program.

Dr. Al-Chaer has also held positions in professional organizations, such as President Elect of the Lebanese Society for the Study of Pain and a member of the Board of Advisors for the American Gastroenterological Association.

Prior to these roles, they served as the Director of Governance for The Translational Research Institute at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, and held various positions at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, including Professor of Medicine and Director of the Center for Pain Research.

Elie D. Al-Chaer, PhD, JD, has an extensive education history. Elie D. earned their Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the American University of Beirut in 1988. Prior to this, they completed their Baccalaureate in Elementary Mathematics from Collège des Frères - Mont La Salle, Ain Saadé in 1985.

After obtaining their undergraduate degree, Elie pursued a Master of Science in Physiology from the American University of Beirut between 1989 and 1991. Subsequently, they attended The University of Texas Medical Branch, where they completed their PhD in Neuroscience from 1993 to 1996.

Building on their scientific background, Elie decided to pursue a legal career in 1997. Elie D. studied at the South Texas College of Law Houston, and within the next five years, they achieved their Juris Doctor (JD) degree in Law in 2002. During this period, they also obtained certification as an Attorney and Counselor at Law from the State Bar of Texas in November 2002.

Seeking further professional recognition, Elie obtained certification as an Attorney from the District of Columbia Court of Appeals in June 2006.
