Melissa McDowell

Melissa McDowell, MA, currently serves as the Grants & Contracts Specialist at the Downtown Eastside Women's Centre, where responsibilities include managing a significant portion of the organization's revenue and developing fundraising strategies. Previously, Melissa was the Grants Coordinator for the Real Estate Foundation of BC, where key achievements included leading a digital transformation of grants management systems and contributing to equity-focused grant-making initiatives. Additional experience spans various roles in nonprofit management, campaign coordination, and government advisory positions, complemented by a Master's degree in Liberal Studies from Simon Fraser University and a Certificate in Non-Profit Management from the British Columbia Institute of Technology.
