Phyllis Barber

Phyllis Barber has extensive experience in various leadership roles within nonprofit organizations. Starting in 2004, they served as the VP for Military Support and Homefront San Diego and later as the 1st Vice President of the San Diego Navy League. From 2005 to 2020, they held the position of Director of Finance and Human Resources at the San Diego Armed Services YMCA. In 2021, Phyllis joined multiple organizations, including the Downtown San Diego Lions Club, armed Services YMCA San Diego Board of Management, and the Navy League San Diego, where they served as the President. Phyllis also became a Board Member for the Gary Sinise Foundation San Diego Chapter. In 2022, they became the Past President of the Navy League of the United States San Diego Council. With their leadership roles and dedication to supporting veterans and their families, Phyllis has made a significant impact in their community.

Phyllis Barber holds a Master's degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix, which was completed from 1996 to 1998. Phyllis also has a Master's degree in Human Resources from Chapman University, obtained between 1990 and 1992. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's degree in Science from Hawaii Pacific University, graduating from 1986 to 1988.

The Downtown San Diego Lions Club partners with individuals and organizations to help those in need. Join us and make a difference! Established in 1922, the Downtown San Diego Lions Club is one of the very few service Clubs that enjoys the ownership and use of its own beautiful meeting facility.
