Parul Mehta, P.Eng, M.Eng, PMP, and MBA Candidate, currently serves as Design Supervisor at DPM Energy Inc since July 2023. Prior to this role, Parul was Project Manager and Electrical Engineer at Colm Engineering Ltd from September 2022 to June 2023, and worked as Electrical Design Engineer at Utility Solutions Corporation from May 2020 to September 2022. During this time, Parul led the design of various electrical projects, ensured compliance with regulatory standards, and managed project timelines to meet key performance indicators. Additional experience includes roles as Teaching Assistant at McMaster University and Senior Technical Design Student at Toronto Hydro, where Parul contributed to design analyses and project documentation. Parul is pursuing an MBA at McMaster University, building upon a prior Master’s in Engineering and a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering & Management from the same institution.

DPM Energy provides a full range of Power System Engineering solutions to meet the needs of the Local Distribution Company (LDC) and developer market. With over 25 years of experience, we are knowledgeable in utility practice for most Ontario LDCs. Specific projects include: Master Planning New Development We work with developers and utilities to develop an overall plan for all utility services for Phased developments. This includes analyzing existing system configuration and capacity to understand how the development impacts the current system. We prepare detailed phasing plans and cost sharing scenarios for LDCs and developers. System Planning for Distribution Networks Working with LDCs, we analyze their current networks to identify capacity constraints, load transfer capabilities and future growth analysis. We develop high-level lists of system improvement projects, including scope definition and budget costs. Distribution System Rebuilds We have worked extensively with LDCs on system rebuilds to maintain the reliability of their networks. Our past projects range from simple pole upgrades to replacing large underground networks in dense urban settings. With our background, we can tackle any type of project. Illumination Engineering DPM Energy offers a wide range of Illumination Engineering services, backed by a thorough knowledge of the most recent regulations governing lighting in accordance with the Illumination Engineering Society (IES) and the Electric Safety Association (ESA) codes and standards. Regulatory Advice The Electricity Sector has seen extensive changes in the level of oversight and regulation governing the operation of LDCs over the last decade. The principals of DPM Energy have kept abreast of these changes and have been actively involved with the evolution of the regulations.
