Mr. Sharma joined the Board of Dr Lal PathLabs in 2005. He is presently a Partner with Executive Access Hong Kong, a top-ranked leading executive search and human resources consulting firm in Asia. His areas of expertise include executive search and consulting within the Investment Banking (ECM/DCM/M&A/Industry etc.), Corporate Banking, Private Equity, Distressed Debt, Fixed Income, Equities, as well as Fund and Wealth Management areas.
Mr. Sharma has spent over sixteen years with Executive Access. He initially joined Executive Access in 1993 with a mandate to create and develop the research group. Almost immediately he was asked to manage a large portfolio of regional projects that included very senior hires as well as helping build investment banking and research teams for major banks/Wall Street firms. In the following years he built a substantial Investment Banking and a Private Equity practice for Executive Access focusing on Pan Asian mandates and projects including India. In addition to managing straight executive search mandates he has also completed a variety of projects focused on entry strategy and human resources consulting. Mr. Sharma has also developed compensation and benefits plans (including ESOP/Incentive plans) and organizational structures for a variety of companies in the region including India.
Prior to joining Executive Access, Mr. Sharma spent over seven years with India's largest financial institution, The State Bank of India. He joined the bank as a Management Trainee (Probationary Officer) and worked in India, and then in Tokyo (Japan) for three years on foreign exchange, credit and treasury desks. Mr. Sharma schooled at Modern School, Barakhamba Road, Delhi and is a graduate from the University of Delhi where he received his degree in Mathematics with honours; in addition he also has a degree in Commerce. Mr. Sharma also completed Post Graduate in Management from the University of Delhi. He is also an Associate Member of the Indian Institute of Bankers. While at State Bank of India Mr. Sharma also completed courses in leadership development and planning.
