Matthias Berger

Matthias Berger is a seasoned professional in the food and beverage industry, currently serving as the Global Head of R&D at Dr. Oetker since July 2022. Berger has an extensive background in research and development, having held various leadership roles at Premier Foods, including Director of R&D and Innovation and Group R&D Director. Prior experience includes a significant tenure at Unilever, where responsibilities encompassed Global R&D Strategy and Innovation Excellence Director and R&D Director for ice cream innovations, among others. Berger also led R&D at Pepsi Lipton during its initial years, focusing on ready-to-drink tea innovations. With a PhD in Chemistry from Bergische Universität Wuppertal and an MBA from Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, Berger combines academic knowledge with practical expertise in creating consumer-oriented food products. Additionally, Berger is a co-owner of Chateau Richelieu, a wine estate in France.
