David Powers

David Powers is a highly experienced human factors engineer currently serving as a Staff Human Factors Engineer at Dräger since January 2024. Prior to this role, David held the position of Principal Human Factors Engineer at Sunrise Labs, Inc. from March 2023 to January 2024, and managed Human Factors Design and Experience at Third Pole Therapeutics from July 2020 to February 2023. With a solid background in developing medical devices, David has successfully collaborated with engineering teams and external consultants to ensure usability, safety, and efficacy. Previous roles include Human Factors Engineer at Ximedica and Human Factors Intern at Idaho National Laboratory, where contributions included the application of human factors methods and involvement in pilot studies. David possesses a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering with a focus on Human Factors and Ergonomics from Virginia Tech, as well as dual Bachelor’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering and German Language and Literature from the University of Rhode Island.
