Richard Topping has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Richard began their career in 1998 as a nurse at Krankenhaus Nordwest GmbH, focusing on trauma care. Richard later joined Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in 1998, where they worked as a registered nurse in the Accident & Emergency department and the Intensive Care Unit. In 2000, they transitioned to Siemens Healthineers as a Clinical Application Specialist. In 2003, Richard joined Dräger, starting as a Sales Specialist and then progressing to various managerial roles including Global Sales Specialist, Marketing Manager, Business Manager, Director of Marketing and Business Development for the Asia Pacific region, and Director of Global Applications for Patient Monitoring Systems. Richard is currently serving as the Senior Director of Global Business Management at Dräger.
Richard Topping obtained a BSc (Hons) in Nursing Sciences from the University of Hull in 1998. Richard also completed a semester abroad as part of their Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Science at the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences in 1998. In 1998, they became a Registered Nurse for Adult Nursing after completing a program with the English National Board for Nursing, Midwifery, and Health Visiting. In 1997, Richard obtained a BTEC Continuing Education Programme in Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) from EDEXCEL. In 1993, they studied Foundation: Graphic Design at Dewsbury College. Additionally, they completed various certificate programs, including Mechanical Ventilation for COVID-19 at Harvard Medical School in 2020 and Management Executive Programme at Malik Management Zentrum St. Gallen in 2009. Richard also obtained certifications in National Powerboat Certificate Level 2 from the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) in 2001, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) from the A.L.S. Training Centre, North Staffordshire Royal Infirmary in 1996, and First Aid from St John Ambulance in 1993.
