Jeffrey Ucran

Chief Operating Officer at Dragonfly Therapeutics

Jeffrey Ucran has a diverse work experience spanning different roles and companies. From 2001 to 2005, they worked at Pfizer as a Protein Purification Team Lead, specifically for the ReFacto project. In 2005, they joined Acceleron Pharma, where they first worked as a Scientist in Purification Process Development, leading the process development and tech transfer for various clinical manufacturing projects. Jeffrey was then promoted multiple times, eventually becoming an Associate Director of Program Management, responsible for portfolio CMC program management and alliance management with Celgene.

In 2017, Jeffrey moved to Apellis Pharmaceuticals as a Director of Portfolio and Program Management. Jeffrey established the program management function and collaborated closely with cross-functional teams for the development of pegcetacoplan in systemic rare diseases and intravitreal applications. Jeffrey supported protocol development and EOP2 meetings with global health authorities for the NDA enabling studies of pegcetacoplan in PNH and GA. During their time at Apellis Pharmaceuticals, they were promoted to Senior Director.

Currently, Jeffrey is working at Dragonfly Therapeutics, Inc. as the Senior Vice President of Operations, a role they started in September 2021. Before this, they held the position of Vice President of Program and Alliance Management, where they demonstrated their expertise in managing programs and partnerships. Prior to that, they served as the Senior Director of Program and Alliance Management.

Throughout their career, Jeffrey has shown a strong track record of promotions and increasing responsibilities in the areas of program management, purification process development, and alliance management.

Jeffrey Ucran attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst from 1996 to 2001. Jeffrey earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biology during this time. Jeffrey also pursued studies in Kinesiology and Exercise Science, completing a second Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in this field as well.
