Ethan Le

Machine Learning Engineer at Dragonfruit AI

Ethan Le's work experience begins in 2015 as a Research Assistant at the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior at UCLA. In 2016, they worked as an Analytics Intern at OWL Analytics, where they performed statistical analysis on correlations between key performance indicators (KPIs) and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) scores.

In 2017, Ethan joined GoBottleRocket as a Data Science Intern, where they constructed data collecting and analytics procedures for the newly-formed startup. Ethan then worked as a Graduate Researcher at King's College London in 2019, focusing on machine learning methods for handling missing data in wearable electromyographic (EMG) systems.

In 2021, Ethan had multiple roles. Ethan served as a Software Engineer Intern at Dragonfruit AI, where they integrated a deep learning-based face mask detection pipeline into production and improved the functionality of the existing machine learning inference infrastructure. Simultaneously, they worked as a Research Assistant at the USC Viterbi School of Engineering's iLab, building and maintaining a custom OpenAI Gym environment for training baseline reinforcement learning agents using DeepMind StreetLearn images.

In 2022, Ethan returned to Dragonfruit AI as a Machine Learning Engineer Intern. Ethan developed an input data distribution shift detection system for computer vision pipelines and added GPU utilization measurements to optimize machine learning system performance and cost-saving.

Currently, Ethan holds a position as a Machine Learning Engineer at Dragonfruit AI since 2023.

Ethan Le is currently pursuing a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science at the University of Southern California, with an anticipated end year of 2023. Prior to this, they obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Data Science from King's College London in 2019. Ethan'sundergraduate studies were completed at UCLA, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree and majored in Economics while minoring in Statistics, graduating in 2017.
