John Dietrich

Teaching Faculty at Dramatists Guild of America

John Dietrich is an accomplished teaching faculty member at the Dramatists Guild of America, where courses include The Architecture of Musicals and Word Crazy: Lyricists, Lyrics & How They're Crafted. As Assistant Director of Faculty & Curriculum and Adjunct Faculty at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, John contributes to drama education. With a longstanding involvement in Dollywood Entertainment since 1997, John's expertise spans over 50 live entertainment productions as a director, choreographer, and writer. As an author and lyricist, works include THINGS AS THEY ARE and ONLY ANNE, with notable accolades including the “Best of Fest Audience Award” at the NYMF 2010. Previous roles as creative director at Niles Creative Group and director/choreographer for various high-profile events showcase John's extensive experience, including tenures at Radio City Music Hall and The Walt Disney Company. John holds an MFA in Musical Theatre Writing and a Master of Arts from New York University, along with a Bachelor of Music from the University of Wisconsin.
