Draper
Alla Gimbel (Epshteyn) has extensive experience in bioengineering, currently serving as the Division Leader of the Bioengineering Division at Draper since September 2007. With a strong background in biomedical microsystems, Alla has held various roles, including Group Leader, R&D Engineer, Program Manager, and Biological Microsystems Engineer, and has successfully transitioned engineering capabilities into a new BioMEMS polymer laboratory. Contributions include designing and fabricating biocompatible platforms for drug discovery and developing micro-scale PDMS polymer devices as an intern in tissue engineering. Early research experience as a Research Assistant at the University of Michigan involved synthesizing nanocomposite films and presenting findings at a significant conference. Alla holds a Master of Science in Engineering Management from Tufts University and a Master of Science in Materials Science Engineering from the University of South Florida, complemented by a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Tufts.
