Brent Appleby

Brent Appleby is an experienced professional in the fields of aerospace and engineering, currently serving as the Director for External Science and Technology, as well as the Director for Algorithms and Software at Draper since July 2012. Prior to this, Brent held the position of Deputy Director of the Strategic Technology Office at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency from July 2010 to July 2012. Brent’s extensive career at Draper began in July 1996, where various leadership roles included Mission Systems Division Leader, Tactical ISR Division Leader, and Advanced Controls Group Leader. Brent holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering, a Master's degree in the same field, and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, all from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where education was completed between 1980 and 1990.
