Gian Luca Mariottini

Gian Luca Mariottini is a distinguished expert in the fields of autonomy, robotics, and computer vision, currently serving as a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff at Draper since January 2016, where responsibilities include leading a large autonomy project and managing technical projects. Previously, Gian Luca held roles as Group Leader and Senior Member of Technical Staff, focusing on perception and localization. Prior academic positions include Assistant Professor and founder of a research laboratory at the University of Texas at Arlington, along with post-doctoral fellowships at the University of Minnesota and Georgia Institute of Technology, where significant advancements in sensor fusion and localization technologies were achieved. Gian Luca holds a Ph.D. in Robotics and Autonomous Systems from Università di Siena, along with BS and MSc degrees in Computer Engineering.
