John Julias currently serves as the Director and Biosecurity Program Manager at Draper since February 2019. Prior experience includes program management roles at IARPA from December 2015 to February 2019, focusing on high-risk research initiatives to enhance national intelligence capabilities, and at the US Department of Homeland Security from February 2014 to December 2015, where John co-led the Biosurveillance Apex Program. Additional experience includes serving as Program Manager at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency from April 2010 to February 2014, and various scientific roles earlier in John’s career at Booz Allen Hamilton, SAIC-Frederick, and NCI-Frederick. John holds a PhD in Biochemistry from West Virginia University School of Medicine (1992-1997) and a BA in Chemistry from Vanderbilt University (1987-1991).
