Melissa Sprachman is an accomplished organic chemist with a robust background in both research and teaching. Currently serving as a Principal Member of the Technical Staff and Research Chemist at Draper since November 2015, Melissa specializes in small molecule synthesis and the modification of proteins and nanomaterials, leading projects aimed at developing novel coatings and films. Prior experience includes a Postdoctoral Research Fellow position at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School, where Melissa focused on synthesizing fluorescent drug conjugates and developing nanoparticle formulations for therapeutic delivery. Melissa holds a PhD in synthetic organic chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh and a BS in chemistry from the College of William and Mary, where foundational research and teaching experience were established.
