Your primary functions / responsibilities:

  • Asset management and Recordkeeping: maintain and update the fixed asset register, ensuring all assets are accurately recorded, track the acquisition, transfer and disposal of fixed assets
  • Depreciation and Amortization: calculate and record depreciation and amortization expenses, review and adjust depreciation schedules
  • Financial Reporting and Compliance: prepare fixed asset schedules for financial reporting and audits, ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements, assist in developing and implementing internal controls related to fixed assets
  • Capitalization and Expense Tracking: Ensure that costs are accurately classified between capital and expense in accordance with company policy, work with Fixed Asset manager in US to confirm proper asset categorization
  • Audit Support: coordinate with auditors and provide supporting documentations and explanations
  • Physical Inventory and Verification: oversee periodic physical inventory counts of fixed assets, investigate discrepancies between physical inventory and accounting records
  • Policy development and Process Improvement: develop and update policies and procedures related to fixed asset management, identify opportunities for process automation
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Provide input on fixed asset additions and related depreciation for budget preparation, cooperate with FP&A on monitoring capital expenditures
  • Other GL activities

Critical skills:

  • Knowledge of IFRS or US GAAP

  • SAP R3 or S4 Hana, MC Office

  • Language: English (upper intermediate with knowledge of accounting & finance vocabulary), Spanish or other language as advantage

  • At least 3 years of relevant professional work experience in accounting

  • Proficiency in fixed asset accounting software and ERP systems.

  • Higher economic education in Accounting or Finance

  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards related to fixed assets.

  • Attention to detail and analytical skills for managing large volumes of data

  • People orientation, relationship building skills, stress resistance

  • Experience in accounting of multinational corporations appreciated

  • International Accounting Qualification appreciated
