Janos Marton

Janos Marton has a diverse work experience in the field of criminal justice reform and policy advocacy. Janos is currently serving as the Dream Corps Vice President for Political Strategy & National Director of Dream Corps JUSTICE, where they are dedicated to transforming the criminal justice system by centering the voices of directly impacted communities and promoting opportunities for low-income communities of color. Prior to this, Janos worked at the ACLU as the Campaigns Manager for the Smart Justice Campaign, where they successfully led state campaigns across the United States, securing legislative, litigation, electoral, and administrative victories. Janos also worked as a Consultant for the Campaign to Close the Workhouse, leading the grassroots effort to close the notorious St. Louis jail. Additionally, Janos served as the Director of Policy and Campaigns at JustLeadershipUSA, leading campaigns such as #CLOSErikers, and managed advocacy teams at the local, state, and national levels. Furthermore, they gained experience as a Legal & Policy Analyst at the NYC Civilian Complaint Review Board, and as the Founder of janos.nyc. Janos also worked as a Special Counsel for the Commission to Investigate Public Corruption, where they conducted investigations and made policy recommendations on political corruption issues. Earlier in their career, Janos worked as an Associate at law firms Siegel, Teitelbaum & Evans LLP and Hogan Lovells, where they focused on complex commercial litigation and pro bono work. Janos also served as a Legislative Aide at the Office of Councilmember Rosie Mendez. Throughout their work experience, Janos Marton has demonstrated a deep commitment to justice and social change.

Janos Marton completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in History from Dartmouth College from 2000 to 2004. Janos then attended the Fordham University School of Law, where they earned a JD degree from 2006 to 2009. Prior to their college education, they attended Collegiate High School from 1996 to 2000.
