Melanie Nezer

Melanie Nezer currently serves as Vice President of Advocacy and External Relations at the Women's Refugee Commission, focusing on the rights and resilience of women, children, and youth affected by conflict and crisis. Additionally, Nezer is a board member of the Dream Project, which supports Virginia students facing barriers to higher education, and served as Vice Chair of the Board for Refugee Council USA. Previously, Nezer held significant roles at HIAS as Senior Vice President of Global Public Affairs, where leadership spanned policy, advocacy, and fundraising efforts. Other experiences include serving on boards for IJMA Inter Jewish Muslim Alliance and teaching immigration law at Northern Virginia Community College. Nezer's early career involved directing immigration policy at the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants and practicing law. Educational qualifications include a JD from Boston College Law School and an executive program at Stanford Graduate School of Business.
