Lydia Tommy

Lydia Tommy has over 30 years of experience in finance and accounting. Lydia started their career as an Accountant at L.M Chusid Company in 1988 and worked there until 1992. From 1992 to 2006, they were an Assistant Controller at Inwood House. Lydia then joined NYCDOE as a Controller for the Fund for Public Schools, where they worked from 2006 to 2012. Lydia continued their work in education finance by becoming the CFO at The Fund for Public Schools from 2012 to 2014. Currently, they are the Director of Finance at DREAM (formerly Harlem RBI), a position they have held since October 2014.

Lydia Tommy obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance & Economics from New York University between 1987 and 1992. Prior to that, they earned their high school diploma in Liberal Arts from Stevenson High School from 1984 to 1987. In addition to their formal education, Lydia also holds certifications such as SHRM - Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) from SHRM, obtained in 2024, and Certified Nonprofit Accounting Professional (CNAP) from BDO, obtained in 2020.
