Courtney Bryant

Director Of Fine Arts And Steam at Charles R Drew Charter School

Courtney Bryant has an extensive work experience in the education and design field. Courtney started their career as an Art Instructor at Jolly Elementary School in Dekalb County Schools from August 2002 to June 2006. Courtney then joined Atlanta Public Schools as a Design Instructor at South Atlanta Computer Animation and Design from August 2006 to June 2012, where they taught Career and Technical Education focused on the industrial design field.

In 2012, Courtney joined Charles R Drew Charter School and served in various roles. Courtney started as an Engineering Design Instructor from July 2012 to June 2016, where they fully integrated the STEAM curriculum and guided students in the design process. Courtney then became the STEAM Project Manager and Engineering Design Resident Coordinator from June 2016 to August 2020, overseeing STEAM projects and coordinating resident programs. Currently, they are the Director of Fine Arts and STEAM at Charles R Drew Charter School, a position they have held since August 2020.

In addition to their work in education, Courtney also worked at Scenic Services @ Turner Broadcasting as a Set Painter from June 2003 to August 2005.

Courtney Bryant began their education at Grady High School from 1993 to 1997. Following high school, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Art Education at Case Western Reserve University and the Cleveland Institute of Art from 1997 to 2001. Later, they obtained a Master of Arts in Art Education from the Maryland Institute College of Art, where they studied from 2008 to 2010.
