Kamal Tayal has worked in various roles throughout their career. Kamal started as a Programmer Analyst at Cognizant Technology Solutions in 2006. In 2008, they became a Consultant at the College of Education at the University of Maryland, College Park. Kamal continued their consulting work there until 2010, while also working as a Consultant at George Washington University for a short period in 2010.
In 2009, Tayal joined DrFirst, Inc. as a Program Analyst before moving on to roles such as Project Engineer Manager, Senior Project Engineer Manager, Director of Engineering, Director of Product Solutions, and Sr. Director of Product & Technology. In their most recent role at DrFirst, they served as the VP of Patient Innovation Products, leading product management and development for the Patient Innovation Division. Kamal focused on creating solutions to improve medication adherence rates, speed to therapy, and customer satisfaction.
Throughout their career, Tayal has made significant contributions, including launching the first nationwide Electronic Prescribing of Controlled Substances (EPCS) solution and leading the development of various products in the healthcare industry.
Kamal Tayal has a Master of Science degree in Telecommunication from the University of Maryland, which was obtained from 2007 to 2009. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Telecommunication from the Maharasthra Institute of Technology and Savitribai Phule Pune University, from 2002 to 2006. In addition to their formal education, Kamal has obtained various certifications including Certified Scrum Master (CSM) from Scrum Alliance, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) from Cisco, PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) from PMI, and Sun Certified Java Professional (SCJP) from Sun Microsystems.
