Aleksandra Zivanovic

Vice Chair Corporate Counsel Committee at DRI

Aleksandra Zivanovic has a diverse work experience in the legal field. Aleksandra is currently the Vice President Legal at SGI Canada, where they have held multiple roles since 2018, including Associate General Counsel and Regional Senior Counsel. In addition, they are involved in the legal community as the Vice Chair of the Corporate Counsel Committee at DRI and has served in various leadership positions at Canadian Defence Lawyers, including President and Founding Chair of the Women's Caucus. Prior to these roles, Aleksandra worked as Counsel at Boghosian & Allen LLP and was a member of the Leadership Committee at DAREarts. Aleksandra also has extensive involvement with the Ontario Bar Association, where they served as a Council Member for two terms and held positions such as Chair of the Insurance Law Section and Vice-Chair of the Insurance Law Section.

Aleksandra Zivanovic attended Concordia University from 1991 to 1995, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Political Science and French (Language). Aleksandra then went on to Universite du Quebec a Montreal from 1996 to 1999, where they achieved a B.C.L. degree in Civil Law. In 1999, they pursued further education at the University of Windsor and completed their LL.B. degree in Common Law in 2000. Lastly, they attended York University - Osgoode Hall Law School from 2011 to 2012, earning an LLM degree in Civil Litigation and Dispute Resolution. In addition to their formal education, Aleksandra obtained a Risk Management Certificate from the Insurance Institute of Canada in January 2023.
