Jim Shepherd

Jim Shepherd is the sector director of advanced materials at Cornerstone Research Group, Inc. Jim has been with the company since August 2018. Prior to that, they were a senior engineer at Procter & Gamble for 11 years. During their time at Procter & Gamble, Jim led teams in the development of software tools to manage and create physical and virtual data related to materials. Jim also investigated novel material manufacturing methods to significantly improve product performance through structured materials. In their current role at Cornerstone Research Group, Inc., Jim is responsible for providing fundamental materials expertise to platform teams. Jim has a deep understanding of material modeling, constitutive modeling, finite element analysis, and statistical analysis. Jim is also an expert in injection stretch blow molding, extrusion blow molding, nonwovens, films, additive manufacturing, and photopolymerization. Jim is skilled in various programming languages, including Python, C++/Qt, FORTRAN, JavaScript, and Django.

Jim Shepherd has a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Ramblin' Wreck Club at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

A direct report to Jim Shepherd is and Ryan Siaumau - Process Engineer. They are on a team with Ben Kogan - Head of Sustainability & Policy, Sam Wilson - Regional Sales Manager, and Agnes Steckler - Director of R&D. Jim Shepherd reports to Alex Totterman, CEO.
