Vanessa Brookes, MPA has a range of work experience in the healthcare and senior living industries. Before joining Drive, Vanessa worked as the Director of Quality at Friendly Senior Living from September 2016 to June 2020. Vanessa also gained experience as a Performance Improvement Facilitator at Hartford HealthCare from December 2013 to September 2016 and as a Therapeutic Recreation Director and OQOLD Initiative Champion at The Alzheimer's Resource Center from October 2011 to December 2013.
Additionally, Vanessa served as the Harbor Program Director at Benchmark Senior Living from February 2010 to August 2011 and as a Program Director & Executive Director at Hearthstone Alzheimer Care from August 2008 to January 2010.
Vanessa Brookes, MPA, has a diverse educational background in the field of public administration and leadership. Vanessa'smost recent educational achievement was in 2023 when they attended Yale University's Women's Leadership Program: Leading with Power and Influence. During this intense program, Vanessa focused on developing their skills in leadership and influence specifically in the context of women's empowerment.
Prior to their time at Yale, Vanessa earned their Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree from SUNY Brockport between 2017 and 2020. This degree allowed their to gain a comprehensive understanding of state and municipal management, equipping their with the necessary knowledge to excel in public administration roles.
Vanessa Brookes began their educational journey at King's College, where they obtained their Bachelor of Science degree, cum laude, in Gerontology. Vanessa attended from 2004 to 2008, delving into the study of aging and its impact on individuals and society.
In addition to their formal education, Vanessa also obtained a certification in Women's Leadership Program: Leading With Power and Influence from the Executive Education at the Yale School of Management in August 2023. This certification further solidifies their expertise in women's leadership and adds value to their professional profile.
