Abu Salim

Abu Salim has worked in the technology and software industry since 2013. Abu began their career as an I.T. Graduate at Triland Metals Limited, providing desktop and application support globally. In 2014, they moved to Lanyon (now a part of Cvent) as a Technical Specialist and Business Analyst, where they configured event management software for a wide range of projects. From 2015 to 2016, they worked at MediaMath as a TerminalOne Support Analyst, investigating and troubleshooting incidents, defects and bugs. At KeyAGENT, they held the roles of Senior Technical Project Manager and Product Owner, managing software teams and finding, designing and specifying improvements to the core system. In 2019, they joined FocalAgent/KeyAGENT as a Software Delivery Manager, leading a cross-functional team of specialists and providing guidance and advice on ongoing product development. Abu then moved to Thought Machine as Chief of Staff, Engineering, leading engineering-wide initiatives and providing support in the operational day to day running of the division. In 2022, they joined Referment as Technology and Operations Director, and also became the Founder of Compare Software Teams, connecting clients to specialised software agencies to support their development or outsourcing needs. In 2019, they also became the Chief Technology Officer at Drone Ag Limited and an Advisor, providing expertise on the overall delivery of software and supporting the team as it builds practices in testing, dev-ops and infrastructure.

Abu Salim's education history includes attending Stopsley High School from 2002 to 2007, Luton Sixth Form College from 2007 to 2009, and Brunel University London from 2009 to 2013, where they obtained a BSc (Honours) Financial Computing. Abu then attended the University of Oxford from 2017 to 2022, where they obtained a Master of Science - MSc in Software Engineering.
