Rodrigo Rangel has an extensive work experience in the aerospace industry. Rodrigo began their career in 1998 as a Trainee at the Aerospace Technical Institute (CTA) - Institute for Advanced Studies (IEAv). In 2001, they worked as a Computer Engineer - Software Development at EngComp Engineering & Computation. From 2002 to 2009, they were a Product Development Engineer at EMBRAER S/A. In 2009, they became the Chief Executive Officer of BRV - UAV & Flight Systems, where they focused on Hi-Tech development which included UAV and Avionics Systems, Flight Simulators and specialized services on those areas. From 2013 to 2016, they served as the Scientific Director of IBRV - Research & Development Institute. Rodrigo currently works as the Chief Technology Officer at Drone USA.

Rodrigo Rangel began their educational journey in 1993 at Centro Universitário Braz Cubas, where they earned a Technician degree in Computer with a focus in Data Processing and Data Processing Technology/Technician. Rodrigo then attended Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica - ITA from 1996 to 2001, where they earned a BS in Computer Engineering with a focus in Fligh Simulators / Virtual Reality / Computers. Rodrigo continued at ITA to pursue an MSc in Electronics and Computer, which they completed in 2006. Rodrigo then returned to ITA to pursue a PhD in Electrical and Computer, which they completed in 2012. In 2015, Rodrigo attended the University of Oxford, where they completed the ISIS Innovation Fellowship Programme. Rodrigo also completed a Fellowship Programme at the Royal Academy of Engineering in 2015.
