Masumi Arafune has a diverse work experience. Masumi began their career in 2008 as an Air Force Officer with the Japan Air Self-Defense Force. In 2018, they moved to Tsuyoshioka Inc. to take on the role of System Administrator / Software Engineer. In 2020, Masumi joined DroneSec as a Drone Security Engineer, where they were promoted to Drone Security Consultant and Event Manager. In 2021, they moved to Sekuro and assumed the roles of Security Consultant and Associate Security Consultant, and also joined Privasec as an Associate Security Consultant.

Masumi Arafune has obtained a Master of Information Technology in Cyber security and Networking from the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) between 2019 and 2021. Prior to this, Masumi obtained a Bachelor of Science in Earth and ocean science from the National Defense Academy of Japan between 2008 and 2012. Masumi has also obtained a number of certifications, including the Certified Red Team Operator (CRTO) from Zero-Point Security Ltd in May 2022, the Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) from Offensive Security in October 2021, the Drone Security Operations Certificate from DroneSec in January 2021, the eJPT (eLearnSecurity Junior Penetration Tester) from eLearnSecurity in August 2020, the Fundamental Information Technology Engineer Examination from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry in May 2019, the CompTIA Network+ from CompTIA in January 2019, and the CompTIA Security+ from CompTIA in April 2020.
