We are seeking a dynamic and competent Quality Assurance manager to lead our quality team. In this role you will own the QA organization of about 15 QA engineers and drive the next phase of quality strategy and execution. You will work closely with Product managers, Engineering leaders and cross functional teams to ensure high quality Saas platform that delights our customers.  

You will be responsible for QA strategy, tool selection, Automation strategy and implementing these strategies. Our organization is in the second iteration of our QA evolution, and the role is most suited for somebody who has been a senior leader of quality leading a team of QA leads with the intent to scale-up, Strengthen and optimize.   

Work Arrangement 

  • Full-time position

  • Hybrid work model (2 days per week in the office)

  • Monday to Friday, 5-day work week (flexible work schedule)

  • Eligible to reside and work in Bandung (Indonesian citizenship only)

Key Accountabilities 

  • Set goals derived from the company objectives and build a QA strategy and plan to achieve that goal. (Goals: high quality delivery, Speed of testing, Shift left mindset and Automation)

  • Lead team of Leads and Senior quality assurance engineers. Able to manage a 2-layer org with leads and Individual contributors 1 layer below.

  • Expertise in testing techniques and methodologies. Able to adopt and coach the team to use the right techniques

  • Engages with the product management leadership team to derive the right testing approach and test strategy. Owns the continuous testing of a product or a major product area

  • Guides the team to adopt the right test strategy and orients the team to test the product in the right environment with testing techniques and variety of test data

  • Able to adopt agile process as specified in the company and build an iterative / agile mindset in the group

  • Able to track and improve metrics. Able to report status of work across teams. Build ad hoc reports using JIRA reports etc. to build QA dashboards and show case accomplishments and issues. Track bug leakage as a key metric to enhance QA team outcomes

  • Coaches the team to create schedules and defines delivery dates for the team. Owns the delivery schedule of the team. Able to manage risk and oversight of a schedule.

  • Have a pulse of the team and engage with personnel issues on a continuous basis.

  • Attain high engagement scores and maintain a positive transparent engineering culture (open, factual and data driven)

  • Maintain continuous connect with stakeholders (chiefly PMs, Engineering and Support).

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and provide updates on the progress of work items.

Qualifications and Competencies 

You either come from a quality assurance background working closely with an agile SaaS product or a services organization. You are open and candid about discussing solutions, problems, and improvements; have a passion for QA metrics and deliver high quality software. You take pride in maintaining strict quality metrics. You are also a leader of a team of 10+ QA engineers, and you own both QA approach and people management. 

  • 10 years + of experience with 3+ years in a supervisory role of a lead or manager

  • Degree in computer science or a related field.

  • Deep expertise in all aspects of SDLC - build, release, QA and performance tuning

  • Expert in testing methodologies, different types of testing and the ability to build a QA organization.

  • Deep understanding of Agile and Scrum processes. Process oriented - Able to define and enforce various processes (Scrum, Sprint QA completion, QA Stories and tasks etc)

  • Expert in using QA tools stack (Test case management, Bug tracking, Automation etc.).

  • Expert in test process, procedures, including test strategy and test case creation

  • Capable to conduct performance testing using tools (e.g., JMeter, K6 and etc).

  • Deep knowledge of security best practices and can translate them into test cases

  • Capable of interactions with leadership team. Deliver executive summary, asks and next steps.

  • Strong customer empathy and understands the usage of the product and customer needs in the domain

  • Knowledge of continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices (e.g. bitbucket pipeline, Jenkins etc.)

  • Planning and estimation skills. Able to handle capacity planning, project plan and maintenance work

  • Strong written and oral communication skills. Able to facilitate meetings with PM and dev stakeholders. Able to speak in crisp, clear language.
