Craig Knox began their work experience as a Programmer Analyst at Syncrude Canada Ltd. in 2004. Craig developed custom software to administer and monitor servers. In 2006, Knox joined the University of Alberta as a Researcher and Bioinformatician. During their tenure, they built and managed projects such as the Human Metabolome Project and DrugBank. In 2008, Knox became the CEO of In Siliflo, Inc. where they built laboratory information management systems and provided scientific consultation and data analysis services. In 2012, Knox worked as a Software Engineer at Xfire. In 2013, they co-founded OMx Personal Health, and in 2015, they co-founded DrugBank, which began as a research project and was commercialized.
Craig Knox completed their education with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computing Science, specializing in Bioinformatics, from the University of Alberta. Craig attended the University of Alberta from 2000 to 2005. Prior to that, they studied Physics at Keyano College from 1998 to 2000, although they did not obtain a degree.
